Protein Bread

One of my favourite people (Karin) kindy shared this recipe that she perfected over time. Being German she is very fussy about her bread and her health! The result was this insanely delicious bread that is high in protein. Yes it does have carbs in it, but with the addition of protein it slows the release of sugars in your body, and as a result is perfect for managing blood sugars. Enjoy!


500g of Greek Protein Yoghurt

430g Wholegrain Oats

1 egg

210g of seeds ( I used hemp, sesame, pumpkin, sunflower). You can even add in some nuts

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2.5 tbsp milk of choice


  1. Preheat oven to bake 180C and line a loaf tin (or use a silicone one)

  2. Milk the yoghurt, egg and milk in small bowl

  3. In large bowl mix the remaining ingredients

  4. Add the wet mix (yoghurt, egg and milk) to the dry mix and stir well

  5. Place mixture in load tin. Sprinkle with wholegrain oats and brush the top with water.

  6. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until cooked through.

Top with your favourite toppings and dig in! Guten Appetit as Karin would say :-)

Nb This freezes well and also toasts really well. OMG SO YUM!!!
